Jorhie joined the RISE Program as our Assistant Director in November 2019. She is a RISE alum and graduate of MSU where she earned her B.S. in Horticulture with a concentration in organic and sustainable agriculture. Following graduation, Jorhie moved to the Upper Peninsula to work on MSU's North Farm. In 2015, she decided to move to Ludington where she started a Career and Technical Education Agriscience program at West Shore Educational Service District. She served as the FFA advisor and course instructor for four years. While in Ludington, Jorhie also served as an academic advisor and instructor for MSU's Institute of Agricultural Technology and West Shore Community College. Jorhie has now graduated from Iowa State Univeristy with a M.S. in Agricultural Education. Jorhie enjoys trail running and hiking, kayaking, cooking, and gardening. She also enjoys farming while traveling, and has worked on several international farms. Jorhie has a passion for experiential learning, especially within environmental and food systems education. She looks forward to supporting RISE students during their transition to MSU and as they develop their own set of interests within environmental science and sustainability work.
